To add an audio visualizer effect to a video you wish to create you first open up After Effects and open a new project.
Next add a background or video that you wish to overlay the audio visualizer onto.
After that add your audio into the composition.
Then add a solid color layer above everything.
Go to the effects panel> generate> audio spectrum.
Next go to the "Audio Layer" option and select the audio you wish to visualize.
change and modify the rest of the settings to what you desire!
